POSITION PURPOSE:

The Data Analyst will leverage data-driven insights to improve patient outcomes, optimize operational performance, and support evidence-based decision-making. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex healthcare data from diverse sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The analyst will collaborate with clinical and operational teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop actionable insights, and contribute to strategic initiatives. By transforming data into meaningful information, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in advancing the organization's mission to provide high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interpret incomplete, ambiguous, or sensitive clinical documentation; resolve discrepancies, supplement missing details with evidence-based reasoning, ensure proper handling or de-identification of PHI, and restructure content to produce clear, accurate, comprehensive, and fully compliant clinical reports that support patient care, accurate billing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify documentation discrepancies, data quality issues, and adverse trends; resolve or escalate using established clinical, coding, and regulatory standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, E/M, MIPS, Joint Commission).
  • Generate and deliver accurate reports for clinical leadership, compliance teams, regulatory agencies, and quality programs [Patient Centered Primary Care Home (PCPCH), Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO), Uniform Data System (UDS), Advanced Primary Care Management (APCM), etc.].
  • Design, build, and implement clinical applications, modules, and Electronic Medical Record/Electronic Dental Record (EMR/EDR) enhancements.
  • Train providers and staff on encounter documentation, standing orders, workflows, and EMR/EDR functionality.
  • Assess clinical workflows, identify inefficiencies or gaps, and develop and implement targeted solutions.
  • Lead planning, testing, training, communication, and rollout of new modules, system upgrades, and process changes.
  • Extract, clean, validate, and manage large healthcare datasets from electronic health records (EHRs), claims, patient surveys, and operational systems while maintaining data accuracy, security, and full HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform advanced analytics to deliver actionable insights that improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, enhance population health management, and optimize care delivery, patient engagement, and resource utilization.
  • Partner with administration to define data needs, translate business and clinical questions into analytical projects, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Maintain current professional and technical expertise through continuing education, professional publications, workshops, and networking.
  • Adhere to all Aviva Health policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform periodic driving of company vehicles as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Two (2) + years of experience in a healthcare data analysis role.
  • Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ICD, CPT).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders; experience creating and delivering data reports to department and organizational leaders.
