• What will you do?
• Do you have an unbeatable work ethic, a knack for thinking outside of the box, an excitement for learning new technologies and an innovation-forward mentality? We’re looking for a technology-loving, passionate, Senior Accountant who is ready to get their hands dirty building a world-class accounting function inside of Clearcover.
• The primary responsibilities of this role will include:
• Participate in monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation of journal entries for insurance entities on both a statutory and US GAAP basis
• Perform account reconciliations with a critical eye, ensuring that account balances are appropriate
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements, including preparation of premium and other tax filings
• Assist with external reporting , including preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules and footnotes
• Participate in the annual external audit, providing support and engaging with the audit team
• Lead and assist with special projects as-needed, with a focus on automation and optimization
• Assists with accounting policy and technical assessments on an as needed basis
• What do you need?
• You should be someone who is a self-starter that can get the job done with little to no supervision, thrives in ambiguity and is excited about the intersection of accounting and technology. An ideal candidate for this role should have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance
• CPA encouraged, not required
• Insurance experience and/or public accounting experience is a plus
• Strong Excel skills
• Familiarity with Alteryx
