What is a Supervisor, Claims APD at Clearcover?
As a Supervisor, Claims APD, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of claims liability claims professionals adjusters, ensuring efficient and effective handling of auto property damage claims while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
What will you do?
- Oversee all claims activities with established claims policy and procedures.
- Supervise a team of claims representatives, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Review and evaluate auto property damage claims to determine coverage, liability, and settlement options.
- Monitor claim files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Identify and assess internal trends for efficiency gains and process improvement.
- Handle escalated customer inquiries or complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a knowledge base of training materials, standard procedures, and shared partner guidelines.
- Supports Clearcover quality assurance initiatives.
- Provides in-depth reporting on claims metrics and communicates results to executive leadership.
- Works with Legal Department on claims resolution strategies
- Implements department vision and goals within their team.
- Regularly tracks progress against departmental goals.
- Coach team members on best practices related to customer interactions and efficiencies.
- Audit calls to ensure consistency amongst team members in insurance knowledge and the customer experience.
- Is accountable for team performance while keeping the team focused and motivated.
What do you need?
- Demonstrated understanding of auto claims operations, including the challenges and rewards of running a best-in-class auto claims organization.
- Proven experience solving complex problems end to end.
- Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement and supporting ongoing professional growth.
- Experience operating with appropriate supervision while aligning work to company strategy and high-level goals.
- Experience supporting department leadership through contributions to long-term strategy development and leadership decision making.
- Proven experience serving as a trusted advisor and role model for team members and cross-functional partners.
- Experience leading department-wide initiatives such as process improvements, automation efforts, or training and onboarding programs.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree, or commensurate work experience
- A minimum of 8-10 years experience in auto physical damage claims
- A minimum of 3-5 years in Claims leadership experience at a personal auto carrier
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of individuals
- Experience with claims related technology for national claims program
- Active adjuster’s license (required)
