What is the Senior Claims Representative, Bodily Injury?

Senior Claims Representatives, Bodily Injury have the important and unique role of helping Clearcover customers during one of the moments that matters most: When they must file an insurance claim. This role will primarily focus on claims in litigation, leading and driving strategies to produce optimal outcomes on files.

What will you do?

Guide our customers through the claims process.
Assess auto bodily injury claims with urgency to determine the extent of injuries, liability, and coverage.
Address physical damage claims and guide customers through the repair process.
Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding injury claims.
Collect and analyze evidence, statements, and police reports to establish liability.
Utilize medical expertise to evaluate the reasonableness and necessity of medical expenses.
Engage in negotiations with claimants, legal representatives, and medical professionals to reach fair and amicable settlements.
Utilize knowledge of litigation process to successfully resolve claims.
Drive and control Defense Counsel; Hold them accountable throughout the litigation process.
Manage expense budgets.
Present claims to committees regarding file strategies.
Address customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives, and follow up to ensure the resolution of claims issues.
Consistently monitor and manage incoming and outgoing customer interactions via email, chat, text, and phone.
Contribute to process and product information in the team's Knowledge Base.
Identify and assess customers’ needs through relatively unstructured interaction.
Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication.
Keep records of customer interactions and file documents.
Deliver on Clearcover’s promise to our customers by actually solving their problems (also paying attention to service level guidelines and policies).
Ability to act independently and autonomously when appropriate to drive optimal outcomes.

What do you need?

Proven experience as a Claims Representative with a focus on bodily injury claims.
In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and the injury claims process.
Advanced knowledge of the litigation process.
Demonstrated ability to remain friendly under pressure and resilient to negativity.
Demonstrated ability to balance the needs of the customer with the needs of the business.
Excellent writing and grammar skills.
Strong active listening skills; able to communicate clearly through phone conversations.
Capable of writing with impact through email, text, chat, or social media.
Experience or interest/aptitude in using artificial intelligence and large language models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Ability to balance the significant benefits of remote work with the personal responsibility and discipline required to remain productive and connected in a sedentary, distributed environment.
Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of individuals.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
A tactful, timely sense of humor is also a must. We’re getting funnier but we can still be funnier-er.

Required Education and Experience:

7-10+ years of auto bodily injury experience required.
5+ years of auto litigation experience required.
Adjuster or P&C insurance license required.
College degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
