Monk is a fast-growing, seed-stage B2B SaaS startup backed by top institutional investors. The company is building software that streamlines revenue operations, reduces manual work, and helps businesses get paid faster through automation and intelligent workflows. Monk is still early, but already has strong momentum, real commercial traction, and the kind of speed and ambition that attracts high-caliber builders.

The company is led by a founder who previously served as CEO of a business that exited for $150M+, bringing deep operating experience and a strong track record of building and scaling in high-growth environments. The team is currently around nine people and is growing quickly following a recent seed round.

The Opportunity

Monk is hiring an Account Executive to help build the commercial engine at a critical stage of growth. This is an opportunity to join early, work directly with the founder and leadership team, and play a meaningful role in shaping how Monk wins customers and scales revenue. For the right person, this is much more than a standard AE seat — it is a chance to have real influence on messaging, process, and the overall go-to-market motion.

You’ll step into an environment that already has strong outbound infrastructure, active founder-led selling, and growing market demand, while taking ownership of pipeline conversion, customer conversations, and revenue generation. This role is ideal for someone who wants to operate with high autonomy, move quickly, and grow alongside the business as the sales org takes shape.

Responsibilities

  • Own the sales process from qualified opportunity through close
  • Run discovery calls, product demos, follow-up, objection handling, and negotiation
  • Convert inbound and outbound-generated pipeline into revenue
  • Partner closely with the founder and broader team on sales strategy and execution
  • Help refine messaging, positioning, and sales process based on customer feedback
  • Maintain a high bar for pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene
  • Build strong relationships with prospects and guide them through the buying process
  • Contribute to early sales playbooks and help shape the future of the GTM function
  • Represent Monk with professionalism across customer meetings, events, and other external interactions

Requirements

  • Experience in a closing role such as Account Executive or a similar quota-carrying sales position
  • Track record of managing sales cycles and closing new business
  • Strong communication, discovery, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability startup environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt quickly as the company evolves
  • Strong sales judgment, ownership mentality, and willingness to contribute beyond a narrow job description
  • Ability to work onsite in New York City; relocation support considered
