Front End Engineer (Mid/Senior Level), EU
The Opportunity:
Are you an experienced front-end developer passionate about creating high-performance, user-focused features? Do you have experience working with modern front-end frameworks? If so, you could be a great fit for the Front End Engineer (Mid/Senior Level), EU role at Team Liquid.
In this position, you’ll focus on front-end development, refactoring existing components, and setting the foundation for a scalable, robust design system. You will contribute to building high-performance, creative website features and assisting the front-end development of Liquipedia, the world’s largest esports encyclopedia across web and mobile platforms. Working in a cross-functional SCRUM team, you will work closely with designers, back- and front-end engineers to deliver an exceptional user experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Implement a custom design system and user experiences with attention to detail.
- Translate design mockups into a scalable, reusable component library
- Focus on refactoring existing Lua wiki modules to improve performance and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain efficient, clean, and testable code.
- Review merge requests from team members and community contributors.
- Provide constructive feedback on best practices for front-end development.
- Contribute to a sustainable front-end strategy that ensures scalability and stability.
- Maintain consistency across UI components and web pages.
- Work within a cross-functional SCRUM team to align development efforts.
- Work closely with designers, engineers, and community contributors.
What You'll Need:
- 3+ years of experience with modern front-end (JavaScript) frameworks, including 2 years of hands-on experience in TypeScript.
- Experience with Lua or a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with CSS pre-processors (Sass / SCSS).
- Experience with vanilla JavaScript.
- Previous experience transforming design systems into front-end component libraries.
- Strong partnership skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders.
- Genuine interest in improving user experiences for the global gaming and esports community.
- Fluent in English
You’ll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience working with the MediaWiki platform.
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards.
- Experience working with blockchain technology.
- Track record of contributing to open-source projects or gaming-related passion projects.
